Mental wellness scores are calculated using questions based on stress levels and depression. Three Rivers District Health Department's overall mental wellness score is 74.

High levels of stress and/or depression increase risk factors for major illness or diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

Of Three Rivers District Health Department's participants, 1,256 have an ideal level of stress, while 573 are borderline and 405 are at high risk for developing complications related to stress.

Three Rivers District Health Department employees were also assessed for depression. Of those assessed, 1,733 are in an ideal category for depression, while 433 are borderline and 68 are at high risk of suffering from depression.
